China Glaze Glitter Goblin Swatch

24 Oct

I was super excited when I picked up China Glaze Glitter Goblin from the Halloween 2012 Wicked Collection. I also wanted to get Make A Spectacle but they didn’t have it in stock 😦

When you pick up the bottle, the holo in it just…. wow. It’s totally amazing, pictures couldn’t capture the perfection of the holo.

The glitter is a dark orange/copper and silver holo. To be perfectly honest, I totally love this color, but when the holo doesn’t show, it’s…. not that attractive of a color in my opinion. Not ugly, just… mehh.

Actually, now that I look, I missed a couple of spots! Oops! Please ignore that…

But it’s a very chunky glitter, kinda of like the 2 glitters in the China Glaze On Safari collection, but you have to use more coats to get full coverage. This is… either 3 or 4 coats, sorry can’t remember 🙂 The formula in this was okay, sometimes the glitter liked to clump together, but it was easy to even out. It dried quickly, as most glitter bombs do! 🙂

This is definitely a unique polish! I honestly have never seen anything quite like it, especially with all that holo! It’s totally worth picking up if you can find it 🙂

China Glaze Harvest Moon Swatch

10 Sep

Hey guys! I’m glad I finally get to post something new! I’ve had lots of trouble with my camera lately so I haven’t had a chance to swatch some stuff, but, today I have a swatch of something I love!

That is China Glaze’s Harvest Moon from the Hunger Games that was released this Spring. My birthday’s in March so for my birthday I received this entire collection! They were actually the first China Glaze colors that I owned. I guess 12 isn’t a bad start 🙂

Harvest Moon is an orange copper foil color. If you know anything about the Hunger Games, then I shall inform you that this color is based off of District 9, the grain district. This color is so perfect for fall! And super shiny 🙂

I have only worn this color once before, and I can’t remember why, it’s so gorgeous! The only problem is the formula, it went on super nice, but then it took forever to dry. Even with my fast drying top coat, I kept denting it all night! Also, it was kinda hard to take off, just because it’s so shimmery and metallic. But it’s so worth it because this color is gorgeous 🙂

China Glaze Stella Swatch

22 Aug

Hey guys! I’m sooo sorry it’s been so long since my last post. I’ve been so busy trying to finish my AP summer homework and school started on Monday. Then, yesterday, I finally had time to post something. I wrote out this entire post and guess what? My computer crashed… Awesome. But! After I post this, I’m going to add another post that will be published tomorrow so be sure to check that out too! Anyway, onto the post!

Have you guys ever bought a polish just because you liked the name? I do that occasionally. This polish happens to be one of those. This is China Glaze’s Stella.

I decided a while ago that whenever I have a daughter, I will name her Stella Marie. Don’t ask me why, I think that name is just so… glamorous.

Stella is a dark violet color with purple and reddish shimmer. It’s like a dark fuchsia. It reminds me a lot of Zoya Yasmeen, but a lighter. It’s a lot more beautiful than I thought it would be.

Oh gosh, I love purples. This is such a gorgeous color. Actually, I say that about most of the colors i review, don’t I? Oh well, I guess it just love nail polish ^_^ It has a great formula, only took 2 coats in the above picture. The only problem I had with this one was the drying time. It took longer than most polishes, even with my insta-dri top coat! Oh and it’s an older polish so I doubt you’ll be able to find it in stores, so I would check the internet 🙂

China Glaze Deviantly Daring Swatch

10 Aug

The other day I ordered a couple polishes from transdesign.com along with another polish rack, because my other 2 are overflowing 🙂 I ordered OPI DS Magic and 5 China Glazes, including Deviantly Daring from the new Bohemian collection.

The Bohemian Collection consists of 6 duochrome colors. For some reason, this one stood out a lot to me. It’s a metallic turquoise with blue color shift. The color in the bottle looks beautiful, but on the nail, it was a little disappointing. 😦

The duochrome was nowhere near as prominent as it was in the bottle. It just looked like a very metallic turquoise color. It was pretty, but I was really expecting the blue to come out a lot more than it did. I’m not usually a fan of duochromes though, they’re always kind of streaky from the brush strokes. The coverage was good though, only 2 coats here.

Although it’s not my favorite China Glaze polish, it’s still very pretty and metallic.

China Glaze I Herd That

6 Aug

As I mentioned in the last post, I picked up this polish from the On Safari Collection the other day. This one is a beautiful gold and copper glitter, with a small amount of holo glitter. It’s not nearly as holographic as I’m Not Lion (from the same collection.)

There’s barely any holo in this unless it’s in direct sunlight, and even then it is hard to see. If you look at the bottle, it looks like it’s mostly copper with a little bit of gold glitter. On the nail, it’s almost the opposite. Maybe it’s just that the gold stands out more but I think it’s a lot more gold on the nail than it is in the bottle.

You can see the holo a lot better in this picture, on the nail and in the bottle. When I took this picture, I had been wearing this polish for about 12 hours and you can already see the slight chipping on the tip of my ring finger. Also, I didn’t like this formula. It was slightly gloppy. Although the coverage was great. This is 2 coats.

If I had to choose between I’m Not Lion and I Herd That, I would choose I’m Not Lion. Although, part of that might be because I’m not a huge fan of gold 🙂

China Glaze I’m Not Lion Swatch

4 Aug

There is nothing that I love more than a really beautiful glitter polish. Especially if it’s a holo. So when I saw the 2 glitters in China Glaze’s new On Safari Collection, I knew they had to be mine. So I went to my local Ulta and picked up I’m Not Lion and I Herd That. Haha, China Glaze has such cute puns. I’ll eventually swatch I Herd That but today, I present you I’m Not Lion:

Wow, look at all that glitter *_* It looks like a perfect mix of gold and silver glitter so that on the nail, it looks like a champagne gold color. And a really beautiful holo effect too. In the sunlight the silver really comes out along with the beauty of the holo.

You can see the holo a little better in this picture, but my camera doesn’t show holo well.

Wow, this color is so beautiful. I usually paint my nails everyday but I loved this color so much I wore it for 2 days. The formula on this was perfect, nice and smooth. Some glitters and holos will dull down a lot once you put a top coat on but this one got 10 times more beautiful. And since it’s mostly just glitter, it dried super fast. I used 3 coats but I got full coverage in 2 coats.

I’m completely in love with this color. If you don’t own this color already, go to Ulta and pick it up or order off the internet or something. It’s totally worth it.
