China Glaze Glitter Goblin Swatch

24 Oct

I was super excited when I picked up China Glaze Glitter Goblin from the Halloween 2012 Wicked Collection. I also wanted to get Make A Spectacle but they didn’t have it in stock 😦

When you pick up the bottle, the holo in it just…. wow. It’s totally amazing, pictures couldn’t capture the perfection of the holo.

The glitter is a dark orange/copper and silver holo. To be perfectly honest, I totally love this color, but when the holo doesn’t show, it’s…. not that attractive of a color in my opinion. Not ugly, just… mehh.

Actually, now that I look, I missed a couple of spots! Oops! Please ignore that…

But it’s a very chunky glitter, kinda of like the 2 glitters in the China Glaze On Safari collection, but you have to use more coats to get full coverage. This is… either 3 or 4 coats, sorry can’t remember 🙂 The formula in this was okay, sometimes the glitter liked to clump together, but it was easy to even out. It dried quickly, as most glitter bombs do! 🙂

This is definitely a unique polish! I honestly have never seen anything quite like it, especially with all that holo! It’s totally worth picking up if you can find it 🙂

NOTD- Curved Dots

7 Oct

So today I have a quick nail art post for you guys! 🙂 These didn’t really turn out the way I wanted it too, the purple glitter didn’t have enough pink and the hot pink turned out red! 😦

Left to right, these polishes are Erre Due #186, China Glaze- Flip Flop Fantasy, and Wet N Wild in Glitz. In the bottle in real life, the Erre Due polish looks totally hot pink, but I think this picture captures how it looks on the nail very well.

I would like this a lot better if I had used different colors but I still really like the way the dots are done! I’ll try it again sometime with different colors and post it for you guys 🙂

Ulta Haul!

22 Sep

So this post is super late… I took these pictures and meant to post them last Sunday but first of all my camera would not connect to my computer so I couldn’t upload anything. Also, it may have something to do with me playing Borderlands 2 for hours on end all week…. 🙂

Anyway, I went shopping at the mall last Saturday and how can a shopping spree be complete without stopping by Ulta to pick up a few things? I was soooo excited when I saw what they had there. They recently stocked all their Halloween polishes! 😀 Halloween is my favorite holiday and some of my favorite polishes too!

So, here’s a quick haul of what I bought!

Pictured above is (right to left): R.I.P, Right Amount of Evil, Monster Mash. These 3 are from the Halloween 2012 Spellbound Collection.

I also picked up a bottle of Flip Flop Fantasy. It’s totally a summer neon color which I should’ve picked up earlier this summer but I resisted until now… which was a bad idea cause I can’t really wear it until next summer… 😦

I have been looking for this forever and I finally found it! Actually I almost missed it because they put it right next to the check out on the bottom of a shelf! This is OPI’s Halloween mini set : So So Skullicious. It came with 4 colors: Hi, Pumpkin!, A-rose from the Dead, Mourning Glory, and Candlelight as well as a set of nail decals.

The last thing I bought was the OPI 2012 Pink of Hearts set. It came with (right to left): You Glitter Be Good to Me and I Think in Pink.

My Nail Polish Collection

14 Sep

So I wanted to do something a little different from what I usually do and show you guys my nail polish collection. I know a lot of people either put their polish in a bin or drawer but I’m in love with nail polish and want to show it off to anyone who comes into my room 🙂 (btw, this is my second time rewriting all of this. I hit the publish button and it decided to delete all but this paragraph)

This is my collection on March 10, 2012. It almost makes me laugh how much it has changed since then.

This is to the very left of my collection, I have this “charging stand” that I found at Target. The top is my mostly unused top and base coats: almost gone bottle of Seche Vite, Sally Hansen, Essie Matte About You, and Rimmel Smoothing base coat. The next shelf is my 2 OPI Nail Envy: Original and Matte. I use one of those 2 as a base coat every time I paint my nails. The third shelf is my 9 striper polishes. 3 are from L.A. colors: Black, Magenta, and Gold Glitter. The rest are Kiss Nail Art Paint: Pearl Blue, Bikini Pink, Beach Green, Black, White, and Silver Glitter. The last shelf is my 8 OPI minis, 4 from the Nicki Minaj Collection and 4 from a Christmas from a couple of years back.

This is the same standing rack from the first picture, but now it holds only my OPI bottles 🙂 It has 34 bottles including my black shatter and Designer Series. I’m not gonna mention every color but if you have a question, comment on this post and I’ll get back to you 🙂

This is the rack that holds my non-drugstore polishes (and Essie). It has 1 Milani, 1 Piggy Polish, 25 China Glaze, 6 Orly, 10 Zoya, and 12 Essie polishes.

This my nail polish rack (and another charging stand) that holds my drugstore/random polish. It has tons of Sinful Colors, Maybelline, Revlon, Sally Hansen, Kiko, and Erre Due polishes on it. The green charging stand holds mostly my random glitter polishes which is why some bottles are upside down. Also, I have my mini tiki from Ocean City, MD 🙂

So obviously, the brand I own the most of is OPI, what’s yours? Comment and let me know! 🙂

China Glaze Harvest Moon Swatch

10 Sep

Hey guys! I’m glad I finally get to post something new! I’ve had lots of trouble with my camera lately so I haven’t had a chance to swatch some stuff, but, today I have a swatch of something I love!

That is China Glaze’s Harvest Moon from the Hunger Games that was released this Spring. My birthday’s in March so for my birthday I received this entire collection! They were actually the first China Glaze colors that I owned. I guess 12 isn’t a bad start 🙂

Harvest Moon is an orange copper foil color. If you know anything about the Hunger Games, then I shall inform you that this color is based off of District 9, the grain district. This color is so perfect for fall! And super shiny 🙂

I have only worn this color once before, and I can’t remember why, it’s so gorgeous! The only problem is the formula, it went on super nice, but then it took forever to dry. Even with my fast drying top coat, I kept denting it all night! Also, it was kinda hard to take off, just because it’s so shimmery and metallic. But it’s so worth it because this color is gorgeous 🙂

NOTD Water Marbling and Dots

26 Aug

As much as I love just painting my nails, I also love nail art. I only started getting into nail art earlier this year, so I’m still a total noob.

This is my attempt at water marbling. I will not lie, I’m awful at it. I’ve only done it once or twice before and it’s to time consuming to really practice a lot. After I did the marbling, I used my dotting tools to do dots over the strips of color.

These are the colors I used: OPI – Suzi Says Feng Shui (in the water marbling and the color on the rest of the nails), China Glaze – For Audrey, and Sinful Colors- Snow Me White. The Sinful Colors white is the one I use for all my white nail art and water marbling. You can see that there’s a line of white polish that dripped down it. Water marbling is sooo messy 😛

This is what I do my water marbling in. It’s just a little glass flower pot that I bought at Hobby Lobby. I know a lot of people use shot glasses or plastic cups. It doesn’t really matter what you use, the effect will still be the same.

By the way! I don’t think I’ve mentioned this yet, but I use OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener as my base coat, and I finally used up my first bottle! When I opened the next one up and used it, I realized that it was a lot thinner than what little was left in my last bottle. I think over time, it just slowly got thicker and thicker. I’m just surprised I never noticed!

China Glaze Stella Swatch

22 Aug

Hey guys! I’m sooo sorry it’s been so long since my last post. I’ve been so busy trying to finish my AP summer homework and school started on Monday. Then, yesterday, I finally had time to post something. I wrote out this entire post and guess what? My computer crashed… Awesome. But! After I post this, I’m going to add another post that will be published tomorrow so be sure to check that out too! Anyway, onto the post!

Have you guys ever bought a polish just because you liked the name? I do that occasionally. This polish happens to be one of those. This is China Glaze’s Stella.

I decided a while ago that whenever I have a daughter, I will name her Stella Marie. Don’t ask me why, I think that name is just so… glamorous.

Stella is a dark violet color with purple and reddish shimmer. It’s like a dark fuchsia. It reminds me a lot of Zoya Yasmeen, but a lighter. It’s a lot more beautiful than I thought it would be.

Oh gosh, I love purples. This is such a gorgeous color. Actually, I say that about most of the colors i review, don’t I? Oh well, I guess it just love nail polish ^_^ It has a great formula, only took 2 coats in the above picture. The only problem I had with this one was the drying time. It took longer than most polishes, even with my insta-dri top coat! Oh and it’s an older polish so I doubt you’ll be able to find it in stores, so I would check the internet 🙂
