Ninja Polish Sexy & I Know It Swatch

30 Dec

Hey Guys! It’s been a long time since I posted, I know. The holidays are always so busy! But, I’m back and so excited for the New Year!
This post has been a long time coming. I took these pictures at least a month ago and actually forgot I had them until I was going through my camera earlier. On Black Friday, I made an order at Ninjapolish.com. Honestly, most of the reason was that if you spent at least $50, you got a free, new, unreleased polish from their Bling! Collection. If you’ve ever heard of Ninja Polish, you’d know that their polishes are to DIE for! They’re supey shiny and beautiful.

I also ordered Models Own Boogie Nights (Purple) and Models Own Freak Out! (Blue):

MOAlso, I ordered Ozotic 529 (Idigo/Purple, orange, and a little bit of pink glitter) and 530 (gold, red, and orange glitter)

OZAnd then I ordered Ninja Polish Sexy & I Know It. The second bottle is the one I got for free called Nebula! It’s so gorgeous!!!!

NP

So I had been wanting to order Ninja Polish’s Sexy & I Know It. It’s like a blue, pink, and green holo glitter. In the bottle, it’s soooo glittery that it’s hard to handle.

S&IKI1

I tried it over Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Blue By!

S&IKII really like Blue By! as well. It really does dry super fast! Anyway! Onto the swatches ūüôā

S&IKI3S&IKI2The formula of both of these are great! This is 1 coat of Blue By! under either 2 or 3 coats of Sexy & I Know It. It’s super sparkly. But honestly, I don’t know if I like these 2 together. I think it’s pretty, but it doesn’t showcase the amazingness of Sexy & I Know It. But still, a beautiful polish, I suggest you go buy a bottle! ūüôā

China Glaze Glitter Goblin Swatch

24 Oct

I was super excited when I picked up China Glaze Glitter Goblin from the Halloween 2012 Wicked Collection. I also wanted to get Make A Spectacle but they didn’t have it in stock ūüė¶

When you pick up the bottle, the holo¬†in it just…. wow. It’s totally amazing, pictures couldn’t capture the perfection of the holo.

The glitter is a dark orange/copper and silver holo. To be perfectly honest, I totally love this color, but when the holo¬†doesn’t show, it’s…. not that attractive of a color in my opinion. Not ugly, just… mehh.

Actually, now that I look, I missed a couple of spots! Oops! Please ignore that…

But it’s a very chunky glitter, kinda of like the 2 glitters in the China Glaze On Safari collection, but you have to use more coats to get full coverage. This is… either 3 or 4 coats, sorry can’t remember ūüôā The formula in this was okay, sometimes the glitter liked to clump together, but it was easy to even out. It dried quickly, as most glitter bombs do! ūüôā

This is definitely a unique polish! I honestly have never seen anything quite like it, especially¬†with all that holo! It’s totally worth picking up if you can find it ūüôā

Zoya Ornate Holiday Collection Preview

25 Sep

Hey guys! I have¬†some more exciting news to share with you today. For one, I’ve been doing a little more on my blog today and added a ‘wishlist’ page as well as posting some stuff for the next 2 or 3 days.

I spent the entire day just browsing the web for swatches and just looking through different nail blogs and I found something on Zoya’s website. They are letting people preorder the Winter 2012/13 collection!

Wow look at those colors! They’re so gorgeous!

Electro- A full coverage, micro fine diamond holographic glitter with holographic bar tinsel mixed in.

Ziv- Full coverage gold foil with micro diamond particles.

Storm- Holiday black with lots of micro holo glitter.

Aurora- Cool undertone plum with micro diamond holographic glitter. (My favorite so far!)

Logan-  (forest?) green sparkly foil finish.

Blaze- Looks like a darkened fushia/pink with micro holo glitter.

You can preorder the whole collection right here. I’m not sure if I’ll preorder it soon or maybe just wait for it to come out, but I’m pretty sure I’ll get all of them… They’ll be out in stores in October. Yay!

Orly Monster Mash Swatch

23 Sep

Today I have a swatch of Orly’s Monster Mash from the Halloween 2012 Spellbound Collection. It’s probably my favorite of the 3 I picked up, which is odd because I’m not usually a fan of greens. But, I do love glitter ūüėÄ

Monster Mash is a green holo top coat glitter with hexagon, bar, and micro glitter. All the glitter has blue/green/yellow holo effect and it’s so gorgeous. Instead of layering it over black or white, I picked another green.

I chose Sinful Colors HD Nails. It’s just a regular shiny green. I almost matched these too almost too perfectly because the glitter didn’t show up that well against the green except in the sunlight. I actually swatch all of my polish on nail wheels, so instead of just showing you guys Monster Mash on my nails, I also snapped a pic of it on my wheel.

This is 2 coats of Monster Mash over a white/creamy “nail”. The orange color next to it is Right Amount of Evil, from the same collection.

This is 1 coat of Monster Mash over 3 coats of HD Nails. The formula on this was fine, the glitter kept wanting to clump together but it was an easy fix. HD Nails was a bit sheer at first but at¬†3 coats it evened out. The dry time on these were both great. That’s surprising because usually drugstore brands take forever to dry. I think Monster Mash is such a gorgeous color. But, next time I’ll layer it over a different color, maybe white.

Milani Gems Swatch

16 Aug

Last month, I went to Ocean City, Maryland for my family’s yearly vacation. This is the second time I’ve been there and it’s honestly my favorite place to be. While we were there, we stopped by a Walmart¬†to grab some groceries when I realized that I forgot to bring a top coat! So I ran to the makeup section to look for a cheap top coat to use. While I was there, I saw a brand of nail polish that I recognized, but wasn’t available¬†near me, Milani.

I’ve seen a lot of swatches¬†of Milani¬†polishes and when I saw this on the shelf, it intrigued me. This one is called Milani¬†Gems from the Jewel FX collection that came out in 2010. From¬†what I can tell,¬†it’s a dupe for¬† Deborah Lippmann’s¬†Happy Birthday¬†and OPI’s Rainbow Connection, neither of¬†which¬†I own.¬†I actually didn’t use it until just now, and I’m upset that I didn’t. It’s soooo beautiful. I’m also upset that my camera didn’t seem to like this one very much, and it was really hard to capture a good picture of this one.

I took a couple of pictures in the sunlight but the glitter didn’t really seem to shine like it did in real life so I decided to take a couple more in the shade.

This picture is much, much better. Anyway, on to the polish! Gems is a mixture of silver, gold, red, green, and magenta hexagon glitter and blue, green, red, and magenta micro glitter.¬†Wow, sooo beautiful. This is 1 coats over 2 coats of Sally Hasen Black¬†Out. ¬†As much as I love glitter and shimmer, I don’t usually wear glitter top coats but I completely love this one. The formula on this was perfect except that the hex glitter likes to clump together a little bit but that doesn’t take away from the beauty of it.

China Glaze I Herd That

6 Aug

As I mentioned in the last post, I picked up this polish from the On Safari Collection the other day. This one is a beautiful gold and copper glitter, with a small amount of holo glitter. It’s not nearly as holographic as I’m Not Lion (from the same collection.)

There’s barely¬†any holo¬†in this unless it’s in direct sunlight, and even then it is hard to see. If you look at the bottle, it looks like it’s mostly copper with a little bit of gold glitter. On the nail, it’s almost the opposite. Maybe it’s just that the gold stands out more but I think it’s a lot more gold on the nail than it is in the bottle.

You can see the holo¬†a lot better in this picture, on the nail and in the bottle. When I took this picture, I had been wearing this polish for about 12 hours and you can already see the slight chipping on the tip of¬†my ring finger. Also, I didn’t like this formula. It was slightly gloppy. Although the coverage was great. This is 2 coats.

If I had to choose between I’m Not Lion and I Herd That, I would choose I’m Not Lion. Although, part of that might be because I’m not a huge fan of gold ūüôā

China Glaze I’m Not Lion Swatch

4 Aug

There is nothing that I love more than a really beautiful glitter polish. Especially if it’s a holo. So when I saw the 2 glitters in China Glaze’s new¬†On Safari Collection, I knew they had to be mine. So I went to my local Ulta and picked up¬†I’m Not Lion and I Herd That. Haha, China Glaze has such cute puns. I’ll eventually swatch I Herd That but today, I present you I’m Not Lion:

Wow, look at all that glitter *_* It looks like a perfect mix of gold and silver glitter so that on the nail, it looks like a champagne gold color. And a really beautiful holo effect too. In the sunlight the silver really comes out along with the beauty of the holo.

You can see the holo a little¬†better in this picture, but my camera doesn’t show holo well.

Wow, this color is so beautiful. I usually paint my nails everyday but I loved this color so much I wore it for 2 days. The formula on this was perfect, nice and smooth. Some glitters and holos will dull down a lot once you put a top coat on but this one¬†got 10 times¬†more beautiful.¬†And since it’s mostly just glitter, it dried super fast. I used 3 coats but I got full coverage in 2 coats.

I’m completely in love with this color. If you don’t own this color already, go to Ulta and pick it up or order off the internet or something. It’s totally worth it.
