OPI The Man with the Golden Gun Swatch

15 Nov

Okay guys, here it is! As promised: OPI’s 18K gold flake top coat The Man with the Golden Gun. When I first picked up the box, I thought “Wow, this is a lot smaller than I expected…” Which is crazy cause it’s the exact same size as any other OPI bottle, but I just built up so much excitement about it, I guess I imagined it bigger in my mind. Anyway, onto the pictures! I must warn you though, this post will be a little picture heavy… 🙂

I decided to pair this up with OPI Danke-Shiny Red because it’s the perfect…. well, shiny red! It’s probably my second favorite red ever (first being China Glaze Ruby Pumps!) Danke-Shiny Red is from OPI’s Fall 2012 Germany Collection and I have fallen in love with it, even more after seeing it under The Man with the Golden Gun.

Front shot of the box it came in.

Top of the box. The box opens from the front and kinda.. swings up? You’ll see in a second, but that’s why there is the crease in the middle.

Here the back of the box. It just tells you (in English and French) what it is and kind of how to use it.

That last picture is totally my favorite! But I totally love how metallic the bottle is. I’m still not sure whether I want to keep this polish in its box and put it next to my polish racks or put it in with the regular OPI bottles.

I am so in love with both of these polishes! Red and gold is such a pretty color combo, especially now that the holidays are fast approaching! Please excuse the little mark on my index finger, I was opening something right after I did my nails and screwed it up 😦 But the formula on these both were great. 2 coats of each polish here. The red went on super easily, just like any other polish. The gold top coat was a little hard to work with, you kind of had to develop your own little tricks to getting this on. The problem is that the flakes are small so you have to try to get enough flakes without getting too much clear top coat. It’s super easy to “learn” though. Also, I would just like to point out that the Danke-Shiny Red is more true to its color in the last picture.

OPI Euro Centrale Spring 2013 Collection

6 Nov

Hey guys! It’s been way too long since I’ve posted anything, school is really kicking my butt right now. It doesn’t help that right when I get home my brother BEGS me to play Dungeon Defenders with him….

I have a lot of posts planned for you guys! But I honestly haven’t even had time to paint my nails lately. But, I have a super special surprise for you! Last weekend, I hit up my “local” Ulta and you’ll never guess what I bought! 5 bottles from the OPI Winter 2012 Skyfall Collection! I got You Only Live Twice, Tomorrow Never Dies, GoldenEye, and Casino Royale (which I’m wearing right now!) But, I said 5 didn’t I? 😉 I ALSO picked up Man with the Golden Gun 18K Gold top coat! Ahhh I’m so excited! The girl’s at the counter looked at it and said “You seriously have to tell us what you think of this after you try it. All the girls who work here want to try it out but don’t wanna drop $30” Guess I’m just crazy 🙂

Anyway, I saw this on OPI’s Facebook page the other day. It is the first look at the OPI Spring 2013 Collection: Euro Centrale. (They’re also working with Mariah Carey who will be releasing her own OPI Collection around the same time.) This collection is based on the unique fashion in Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Romania.

This is a lot different from the usual spring pastel colors they usually release!  As you can see, the collection has 12 polishes total, made up of 1 glitter, 2 shimmer polishes, and the rest are creme.

Polka.com- Blue and violet are dancing partners in this glittery combo.

Vant to Bite My Neck?- You know you want to… wear this deep eggplant.

I Saw… U Saw… We Saw… Warsaw – Be seen in this deep midnight blue.

OPI… Eurso Euro – This deep blue cream is very continental.

Can’t Find My Czechbook – I hope you take credit, because I must have this aqua!

You’re Such a BudaPest – If I let you borrow this periwinkle-purple, will you go away?

My Paprika is Hotter than Yours! – Get the extinguisher…this fiery red is sizzling!

Suzi’s Hungary AGAIN! – Thank goodness there are zero calories in this warm and yummy pink.

Hands Off My Kielbasa! – Get your own…this bronzy tan is all mine!

A Woman’s Prague-ative – I’m changing this shimmery copper for…. never mind!

OY-Another Polish Joke! – So this shimmery-gold walks into a bar…

My Vampire is Buff – Creamy, pale and nude… just how I like my vampires.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for an OPI Collection! It’s so gorgeous! And the names are super cute, some even verging on hilarious! I don’t know which ones I’ll be purchasing yet, all I know is that I MUST have my hands on Polka.com! You know how I love my glitter polishes 😉

Which do you think look the best and/or are worth picking up?
