Okay guys, here it is! As promised: OPI’s 18K gold flake top coat The Man with the Golden Gun. When I first picked up the box, I thought “Wow, this is a lot smaller than I expected…” Which is crazy cause it’s the exact same size as any other OPI bottle, but I just built up so much excitement about it, I guess I imagined it bigger in my mind. Anyway, onto the pictures! I must warn you though, this post will be a little picture heavy… 🙂
I decided to pair this up with OPI Danke-Shiny Red because it’s the perfect…. well, shiny red! It’s probably my second favorite red ever (first being China Glaze Ruby Pumps!) Danke-Shiny Red is from OPI’s Fall 2012 Germany Collection and I have fallen in love with it, even more after seeing it under The Man with the Golden Gun.
Front shot of the box it came in.
Top of the box. The box opens from the front and kinda.. swings up? You’ll see in a second, but that’s why there is the crease in the middle.
Here the back of the box. It just tells you (in English and French) what it is and kind of how to use it.
That last picture is totally my favorite! But I totally love how metallic the bottle is. I’m still not sure whether I want to keep this polish in its box and put it next to my polish racks or put it in with the regular OPI bottles.
I am so in love with both of these polishes! Red and gold is such a pretty color combo, especially now that the holidays are fast approaching! Please excuse the little mark on my index finger, I was opening something right after I did my nails and screwed it up 😦 But the formula on these both were great. 2 coats of each polish here. The red went on super easily, just like any other polish. The gold top coat was a little hard to work with, you kind of had to develop your own little tricks to getting this on. The problem is that the flakes are small so you have to try to get enough flakes without getting too much clear top coat. It’s super easy to “learn” though. Also, I would just like to point out that the Danke-Shiny Red is more true to its color in the last picture.
