Ninja Polish Sexy & I Know It Swatch

30 Dec

Hey Guys! It’s been a long time since I posted, I know. The holidays are always so busy! But, I’m back and so excited for the New Year!
This post has been a long time coming. I took these pictures at least a month ago and actually forgot I had them until I was going through my camera earlier. On Black Friday, I made an order at Ninjapolish.com. Honestly, most of the reason was that if you spent at least $50, you got a free, new, unreleased polish from their Bling! Collection. If you’ve ever heard of Ninja Polish, you’d know that their polishes are to DIE for! They’re supey shiny and beautiful.

I also ordered Models Own Boogie Nights (Purple) and Models Own Freak Out! (Blue):

MOAlso, I ordered Ozotic 529 (Idigo/Purple, orange, and a little bit of pink glitter) and 530 (gold, red, and orange glitter)

OZAnd then I ordered Ninja Polish Sexy & I Know It. The second bottle is the one I got for free called Nebula! It’s so gorgeous!!!!

NP

So I had been wanting to order Ninja Polish’s Sexy & I Know It. It’s like a blue, pink, and green holo glitter. In the bottle, it’s soooo glittery that it’s hard to handle.

S&IKI1

I tried it over Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Blue By!

S&IKII really like Blue By! as well. It really does dry super fast! Anyway! Onto the swatches 🙂

S&IKI3S&IKI2The formula of both of these are great! This is 1 coat of Blue By! under either 2 or 3 coats of Sexy & I Know It. It’s super sparkly. But honestly, I don’t know if I like these 2 together. I think it’s pretty, but it doesn’t showcase the amazingness of Sexy & I Know It. But still, a beautiful polish, I suggest you go buy a bottle! 🙂

OPI DS Magic VS Orly Lunar Eclipse

1 Dec

Hey Guys! Hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend! I know I am! I’ve been super busy lately, as usual 🙂 I ordered a nail polish making kit on Etsy the other day so I’ve been doing that lately, and I LOVE IT!

Anyway, I was going through my nail polish collection and saw that these 2 polishes look almost exactly alike. I was a little disappointed because I don’t like “wasting” money so when I find 2 polishes that are so similar, that’s exactly how I feel. But, I figured that it would be a good thing to show you, considering one of these is considerably higher priced than the other.

I already did a review of OPI Designer Series Magic which you can find here. Orly Lunar Eclipse is from the Cosmic FX collection that released in Fall 2010. I actually bought this at Ulta and I think it may have been on sale.

First and Ring Finger: Orly Lunar Eclipse
Middle and Pinky: OPI DS Magic

I spent probably 10 full minutes staring at my nails just to see if I could tell the difference and I honestly couldn’t. Orly LE has a lot more purple color shift in the bottle but it doesn’t really show up on the nail. These are definitely dupes.

Considering Orly retails for $8 and the OPI DS bottles retail at $12 (I think), I think Orly is the better choice. Also, Orly has .6 oz as opposed to OPI, with only .5. The only plus side about the OPI bottle is that it has a pretty brush handle, and I prefer the brush size.

OPI The Man with the Golden Gun Swatch

15 Nov

Okay guys, here it is! As promised: OPI’s 18K gold flake top coat The Man with the Golden Gun. When I first picked up the box, I thought “Wow, this is a lot smaller than I expected…” Which is crazy cause it’s the exact same size as any other OPI bottle, but I just built up so much excitement about it, I guess I imagined it bigger in my mind. Anyway, onto the pictures! I must warn you though, this post will be a little picture heavy… 🙂

I decided to pair this up with OPI Danke-Shiny Red because it’s the perfect…. well, shiny red! It’s probably my second favorite red ever (first being China Glaze Ruby Pumps!) Danke-Shiny Red is from OPI’s Fall 2012 Germany Collection and I have fallen in love with it, even more after seeing it under The Man with the Golden Gun.

Front shot of the box it came in.

Top of the box. The box opens from the front and kinda.. swings up? You’ll see in a second, but that’s why there is the crease in the middle.

Here the back of the box. It just tells you (in English and French) what it is and kind of how to use it.

That last picture is totally my favorite! But I totally love how metallic the bottle is. I’m still not sure whether I want to keep this polish in its box and put it next to my polish racks or put it in with the regular OPI bottles.

I am so in love with both of these polishes! Red and gold is such a pretty color combo, especially now that the holidays are fast approaching! Please excuse the little mark on my index finger, I was opening something right after I did my nails and screwed it up 😦 But the formula on these both were great. 2 coats of each polish here. The red went on super easily, just like any other polish. The gold top coat was a little hard to work with, you kind of had to develop your own little tricks to getting this on. The problem is that the flakes are small so you have to try to get enough flakes without getting too much clear top coat. It’s super easy to “learn” though. Also, I would just like to point out that the Danke-Shiny Red is more true to its color in the last picture.

OPI Euro Centrale Spring 2013 Collection

6 Nov

Hey guys! It’s been way too long since I’ve posted anything, school is really kicking my butt right now. It doesn’t help that right when I get home my brother BEGS me to play Dungeon Defenders with him….

I have a lot of posts planned for you guys! But I honestly haven’t even had time to paint my nails lately. But, I have a super special surprise for you! Last weekend, I hit up my “local” Ulta and you’ll never guess what I bought! 5 bottles from the OPI Winter 2012 Skyfall Collection! I got You Only Live Twice, Tomorrow Never Dies, GoldenEye, and Casino Royale (which I’m wearing right now!) But, I said 5 didn’t I? 😉 I ALSO picked up Man with the Golden Gun 18K Gold top coat! Ahhh I’m so excited! The girl’s at the counter looked at it and said “You seriously have to tell us what you think of this after you try it. All the girls who work here want to try it out but don’t wanna drop $30” Guess I’m just crazy 🙂

Anyway, I saw this on OPI’s Facebook page the other day. It is the first look at the OPI Spring 2013 Collection: Euro Centrale. (They’re also working with Mariah Carey who will be releasing her own OPI Collection around the same time.) This collection is based on the unique fashion in Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Romania.

This is a lot different from the usual spring pastel colors they usually release!  As you can see, the collection has 12 polishes total, made up of 1 glitter, 2 shimmer polishes, and the rest are creme.

Polka.com- Blue and violet are dancing partners in this glittery combo.

Vant to Bite My Neck?- You know you want to… wear this deep eggplant.

I Saw… U Saw… We Saw… Warsaw – Be seen in this deep midnight blue.

OPI… Eurso Euro – This deep blue cream is very continental.

Can’t Find My Czechbook – I hope you take credit, because I must have this aqua!

You’re Such a BudaPest – If I let you borrow this periwinkle-purple, will you go away?

My Paprika is Hotter than Yours! – Get the extinguisher…this fiery red is sizzling!

Suzi’s Hungary AGAIN! – Thank goodness there are zero calories in this warm and yummy pink.

Hands Off My Kielbasa! – Get your own…this bronzy tan is all mine!

A Woman’s Prague-ative – I’m changing this shimmery copper for…. never mind!

OY-Another Polish Joke! – So this shimmery-gold walks into a bar…

My Vampire is Buff – Creamy, pale and nude… just how I like my vampires.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for an OPI Collection! It’s so gorgeous! And the names are super cute, some even verging on hilarious! I don’t know which ones I’ll be purchasing yet, all I know is that I MUST have my hands on Polka.com! You know how I love my glitter polishes 😉

Which do you think look the best and/or are worth picking up?

China Glaze Glitter Goblin Swatch

24 Oct

I was super excited when I picked up China Glaze Glitter Goblin from the Halloween 2012 Wicked Collection. I also wanted to get Make A Spectacle but they didn’t have it in stock 😦

When you pick up the bottle, the holo in it just…. wow. It’s totally amazing, pictures couldn’t capture the perfection of the holo.

The glitter is a dark orange/copper and silver holo. To be perfectly honest, I totally love this color, but when the holo doesn’t show, it’s…. not that attractive of a color in my opinion. Not ugly, just… mehh.

Actually, now that I look, I missed a couple of spots! Oops! Please ignore that…

But it’s a very chunky glitter, kinda of like the 2 glitters in the China Glaze On Safari collection, but you have to use more coats to get full coverage. This is… either 3 or 4 coats, sorry can’t remember 🙂 The formula in this was okay, sometimes the glitter liked to clump together, but it was easy to even out. It dried quickly, as most glitter bombs do! 🙂

This is definitely a unique polish! I honestly have never seen anything quite like it, especially with all that holo! It’s totally worth picking up if you can find it 🙂

Color Club Halloween 2010 Set Mani

12 Oct

As I may have mentioned before, I totally love Halloween. So I started doing Halloween themed manicures on myself basically October 1st 🙂 I also ordered a Halloween mini collection online that was actually from 2010. It’s called Bewitching from Color Club. It’s actually my first Color Club polishes, and I love them!

It came with 4 super cute colors: Bewitching (plain black creme), Charmed, I’m Sure (shimmery purple, possible dupe of OPI Ink?), Spellbound (super bright neon orange), and my favorite, Hocus Pocus (holo glitter!) The little box it came in is just so adorable!

Am I right, or am I right? 🙂

It also came with some of the nicest nail decals I’ve ever seen. They have a lot of designs to choose from and they all have little tiny gems on them in a rainbow of colors! I’ve never been a huge fan of decals but I will definitely be using them!

Here’s a closer pic of the polishes.

For today’s post I layered these two. They seemed the most unusual and fun.

I am so in love with this mani! I’ve been wearing it for 4 days now I think. The holo is so perfect indoors, probably even better than outdoors. It’s hard to tell from this pic, but there’s a LOT of holo, a lot like in the bottle. This is 1 coat of Hocus Pocus over 2 coats of Spellbound. Although, I’d like to point out that if I were to wear Spellbound alone, I’d probably need 3 coats. Honestly, I think you could wear Hocus Pocus alone too if you used 3 or 4 coats. This is actually without a top coat too, considering I’m almost out 😦 But the dry time on these are AMAZING.

Needless to say, my first impression of Color Club has totally won me over, I will be wearing another CC color soon, for sure!

NOTD- Curved Dots

7 Oct

So today I have a quick nail art post for you guys! 🙂 These didn’t really turn out the way I wanted it too, the purple glitter didn’t have enough pink and the hot pink turned out red! 😦

Left to right, these polishes are Erre Due #186, China Glaze- Flip Flop Fantasy, and Wet N Wild in Glitz. In the bottle in real life, the Erre Due polish looks totally hot pink, but I think this picture captures how it looks on the nail very well.

I would like this a lot better if I had used different colors but I still really like the way the dots are done! I’ll try it again sometime with different colors and post it for you guys 🙂
